Replace the railing, not the operating schedule.

The challenge

A sports center needed to replace a steel railing with glass. Under a traditional approach, the existing railing might be removed so timber templates could be made before ordering the glass, leaving a potentially unsafe opening during a two-to-three-week lead time.

SpotOn’s approach

SpotOn used a Leica DISTO S910 and point-to-point measurements to capture the required geometry while the existing steel balustrade remained in place.

What we delivered

The glass could be ordered in advance. The old steel railing only needed to be removed when the replacement glazing was ready for installation.

Value to the client

The approach maintained the existing protection during the manufacturing period and avoided the need for an extended shutdown caused by missing balustrades.

Replace the railing, not the operating schedule.
